How to Claim the Smartwool Guarantee
Smartwool will make it right if you're not completely happy with your gear within two years of buying it. The surprise for most people: approved claims are paid in digital gift cards, not a replacement item or a refund.

Step-by-step: how to file
- Check the 2-year windowThe guarantee covers gear within two years of purchase.
- Take the photosYou need a full product photo and a photo of the problem area. JPG, PDF or PNG. Smartwool says to include four photos.
- Fill out the guarantee formEnter the purchase date and where you bought it (in store, online, retailer or gift). Add the date code and PO lot from the tag if you can find them.
- Choose the damage typeOptions include seam failure, pilling, puncture or tear, zipper failure and sock issues.
- One claim per productFile a separate claim for each item.
- Keep the item until they replyUS customers usually don't need to return it, but Smartwool can still ask.

What voids the claim
- Items bought from unauthorized sellers, including unauthorized websites
- Smartwool thredUP (preowned) items
- Anything older than 2 years
